🎺 This coming Wednesday night🗣️, Identity Youth at Faithway Assembly of God in La Follette, Tennessee, is coming together for a powerful evening focused on God’s Word and praise. We will dive straight into Psalm 2, examining God’s supreme reign, the ultimate victory of King Jesus, and what it means to anchor our identity in Him when the world feels chaotic. Whether you have read through the Psalms a dozen times or are opening your Bible for the very first time, there is a seat at the table for you.
Alongside our Scripture study, we are dedicated to learning and making music together. Worship is more than just singing along on a Sunday morning, it is an active, communal response to who God is and what He has done. By stepping into hands on music creation and practice, students will build confidence, grow closer as a community, and discover how worship aligns our hearts directly with truth.
As we lift our voices and plug in our instruments, we take inspiration from Psalm 150, which calls everything that has breath to praise the Lord with trumpets, harps, timbrels, and cymbals. God has blessed each of you with unique gifts, talents, and creative callings, and stewarding those gifts well means honoring Him with everything you have. Bring your passion, bring a friend, bring an instrument, and let’s make some noise for the Kingdom this Wednesday!

🗣️6th through 12th grades join us next Wednesday for a sermon on Psalm 2 🌎

📖 “Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, “As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.” I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you. 👤🪩🕺Deciding whether to attend a specific party comes down to evaluating the environment, the people involved, and how the event aligns with your values.
"All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be dominated by anything.

Questions to Consider Before You Go
What is the primary focus of the gathering? Is the main intent to build genuine relationships and enjoy good company, or is it centered around activities that pull you away from your standards?
How will the environment affect your choices? Consider whether being in that setting will put pressure on you to compromise your character or engage in reckless behavior.
Who will you be with? As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:33 (ESV), "Do not be deceived: 'Bad company ruins good morals.'" Surround yourself with people who respect your boundaries and support your integrity.
What kind of testimony or example are you setting? Ask yourself if attending helps or hinders your ability to represent Christ clearly to those around you in your community.
Making the Decision
1. Pray for Discernment: Ask God for clear wisdom and a sensitive conscience regarding the invitation.
2. Seek Guidance: Talk with your parents and pastors who know you well and can offer sound advice.
3. Establish Boundaries Early: If you decide to go, decide beforehand when you will leave and what lines you will not cross. Have an exit plan ready if the environment changes.
