Big thanks to Children's Services Fund of Jackson County (CSF) for spotlighting us & sharing a piece of our story! 🌲✨ Wildwood gives kids impacted by foster care & kinship care the ultimate outdoor space to build resilience, social-emotional skills, & life confidence. We are able to do these Respite & Recreation Weekends with the support of Children's Services Fund of Jackson County.

From paddling canoes to conquering new challenges, the impact doesn't stop with the kids: these weekends also give hardworking parents & caregivers vital time to recharge, keeping families strong. 🛶🙌 We’re so proud to partner with CSF to serve Jackson County kids and families! ❤️

💬 Help us spread the word about this partnership & Respite weekends by dropping a ❤️ or sharing this post!

A great school day can happen far beyond the classroom. 🌲

At Wildwood, students learn from nature by exploring, solving problems, working together, and engaging directly with the world around them. From outdoor activities to team challenges and guided experiences with Wildwood staff, each visit breaks the mould of classroom learning.

If you’re planning upcoming field trips or looking ahead to future school-year opportunities, start a conversation with Wildwood about what could be the best fit for your students.

⛺ Building Community, One Campfire at a Time 🏕️

We were recently invited to the United Way Bootcamp kickoff at BOK Financial. We knew we had to show up in true Wildwood style, so we slung on our packs, hit the trail, and set up "camp" right in their office. 🌲✨ It was such a joy to visit with the BOK Financial team. We got to share our core mission: Kids Grow Better Outside. At Wildwood, youth discover their confidence, practice curiosity and kindness, and build lifelong belonging through the magic of nature and community. Several team members even grew up coming to Wildwood! We love meeting our alumni and hearing their camp stories.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our friends at United Way of Greater Kansas City and BOK Financial for giving us your time, your ears, and your warm welcome. 🤝✨ We are so proud and honored to be an Impact 100 member! It means we get to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with incredible local nonprofits, sharing how we bring life-changing resources, outdoor leadership, and growth opportunities to Kansas City youth. 💚

A special shoutout to the YMCA of Greater Kansas City for being so much fun. We loved making new friends over the campfire! 🍫🔥 (And yes, we are so ready for round two of indoor s'mores!)

These are the moments your support helps create at Wildwood.

Donations open the door to meaningful outdoor experiences where young people can build confidence, connect with peers, learn through doing, and discover what they’re truly capable of. For some, that support can also mean access to opportunities they may not otherwise have.

Every contribution makes a difference, and we couldn't be more grateful for the support of our donors.

EVERGY reenergized Wildwood yesterday! Huge thanks to their Johnson County team for giving a few of our camp spots a refresh! 🪵⚡ They rolled up their sleeves and made a massive impact across camp in just one day.

They tackled:
🎨 Staining of the dock & campfire backdrop
🌸 Beautified & weeded the garden bed in front of the dining hall
🌳 Planted a gorgeous new aspen tree
🪵 Freshly mulched our newly updated low ropes course (keeping it fresh, safe, and ready for our campers and team-building groups!)

Corporate partners like Evergy keep Wildwood beautiful and accessible for our kids.

Thank you for giving back to your community! 💙 💼

We want you to bring your company or group out for a hands-on service day at camp. We’d love to host you!

Send us a DM or schedule your volunteer opportunity!
