Today we did something fun by showcasing carvings by some of our members who have been in our club the longest.

Jenny Reiland Schroeder is seated with her carvings in front of her in the first photo, along with some carvings from her dad, Jack Reiland. They joined Coulee Region Wood Carvers together in 1991, when they both began to carve. Jenny's likes Scandinavian flat plane carving as well as any folk art.

Ken Larson has his carvings in front of him in the second photo. Ken has been in our club since 2008 and he is a man with many intersts in the carving world. He does Scandinavian flat plane, relief carving, bark carving, chip carving...he'll try it all!
He continues to take classes to keep learning.

This was a big weekend for seven of our members who made the trip to the Snow Daze Carve In in Sartell, MN. This is a big event each year with ~15 carving instructors there. Everyone loved their classes! MC, Denise, and Ken attended a class by Charles Banks, Sinita learned from Rich Wetherbee, Tom had Bob Lawrence, Mary went to Rhonda Smith's class, and Vicki had Norm Minske.
Bonus! It was Ken's birthday so they all got to help him celebrate.

They were all happily sharing at our club meeting today and we were thrilled to see their new carvings!
