The 2026 election will produce winners and losers. But the larger question is what kind of political culture emerges after the ballots are counted. If division is continually rewarded, division will continue. Breaking that cycle begins when citizens recognize that disagreement is part of democracy — but contempt for fellow citizens does not have to be.

LeaderEthics has consistently promoted four principles of ethical leadership: be truthful, be transparent, be a unifier rather than a divider, and work to represent all constituents. These principles are interconnected.

The judicial process is the cornerstone of civility in America's constitutional democracy. Yet we are living in a time when confidence in American institutions is being tested, including the judiciary. This is particularly challenging as battleground states such as Wisconsin prepare for the upcoming midterm elections.
