It's that time of year again!!
Time to get signed up for the upcoming winter sessions of our
La Crosse County Shooting Sports!!
Check the Cloverline to get your registrations filled out and turned in ASAP! Some classes and times do fill up! Please be sure to read through the rules and guidelines, as some things have changed this year.
Also, for our older kids, check out the link here for our scholarship opportunities. We offer a great scholarship to those who are willing to put in some extra time and effort, so look it over before your Senior year! New requirement - keep track of your volunteer hours - form can be found in this link as well. It will be the responsibility of the youth to have these sheets with them, filled out and get them signed.

It’s the last day of the fair but the fun is not over yet! Stop by the farm progress building at noon today to check out the youth archery tournament!! Kids will be showing off their Archery skills at 10, 15, and 20 yards!!

We had a great opening day for the Holmen Archery Program at Arrows in the Square. The rain held off and we had some great groups of kids! Can’t wait to see them again this Sunday!

Thanks to everyone who participated in this years Archery and Pellet Gun program at La Crosse Archery!! Unfortunately, as I am sure you are aware by now, the last session (scheduled for this Sat.) and the Invitational (scheduled for April 3 &4) have been cancelled due to COVID-19 virus. We appologize to all affected by this, but it out or our control.
During our 5th week of shooting sports, 2 weeks ago, we held our in-house archery and pellet gun tournaments. Trophies have been awarded and have mailed to the winners. Everyone should also be receiving, sometime in the next few days, their score cards from archery and ribbons for the Pellet Gun competition as well. Congrats to all the winners and everyone who participated. Results will be posted on the 4-H website.
It takes many great volunteers and amazing youth to make this program a success. We couldn't do it without YOU! At this time, the Arrows In the Square archery Program, scheduled to begin in May, is still on. We will keep you posted on any updates.
For those who participated in the Pellet Gun Tournament, don't forget to sign up for that as a project when fair registration begins in May - it is considered a pre-fair event. Also, during the fair we hold an Archery Tournament, so don't forget to sign up for that one too! Any 4-Her who participated in at least 2 archery shoots (either at La Crosse Archery, or during the Arrows in the Square program) are eligible. Thanks for a great year so far - stay home, stay safe and stay healthy!!

Hey Everyone - in light of state policies regarding 4-H events and the COVID-19 pandemic - we are having to cancel the last session of Archery/Pellet Gun AND the Archery Invitational.

An email will go to all those enrolled as another notification. Those signed up for Archery Invitational will get refunded their money, however the last session of Archery/Pellet sessions might just be postponed.

Holmen Archery programs are still scheduled. Cross your fingers!

***CANCELLED: The last session of the La Crosse Archery & Pellet Gun Program (originally scheduled for Saturday, March 21st) AND the La Crosse County Archery Invitational (originally scheduled for Friday, April 3rd and Saturday, 4th) have been cancelled***

Extension La Crosse County is committed to keeping those we serve safe and healthy. In order to keep this commitment, at the directive of UW-Madison Chancellor, Rebecca Blank, all UW-Madison Division of Extension Sponsored events (including all WI 4-H programs), of 50 or more people are cancelled effective immediately (Thursday, March 12, 2020), due to COVID-19, also known as the Corona virus. The health and safety of our participants, presenters, volunteers, and community is our most important priority.

Our 3rd session of Shooting Sports is tomorrow (2/8/20) at La Crosse Archery!! And NO.... it is NOT too late for you to get signed up!! There are still 4 sessions left with tomorrow, so you can still get plenty of great practice in. We can get you signed up tomorrow morning for one of our 8 am or 10 am sessions (sorry the 9 am is pretty full).
**Remember - If you plan to participate in the Archery Tournament at the fair in July, you MUST attend at least 2 sessions of either the program running now, at La Crosse Archery, or 2 sessions at the program running this spring/summer at Arrows in the Square in Holmen.

Our second session of shooting sports is coming up this Saturday!! We still have openings in the 8 and 10 am classes so you’re not too late to join in the fun! If you want to get started now you can register that morning. Just please bring your payment with you and a parent or guardian to sign the paperwork. Sorry - all pellet gun sessions are now full. HEY EVERYBODY!!
Saturday was our first session of the winter Shooting Sports! But, it's not too late to sign up!! We still have openings in all sessions of Archery - at 8, 9, and 10 am. Sorry - the pellet gun sessions are all full now. Cost is only $6 for 4-H members but the fun and experiences are priceless!! Next session is Saturday, January 25.
