St. Joseph Ridge Lions - La Crosse County The St. Joseph Ridge Lions are part of Lions Club International and a member of the Wisconsin Lions. We are part of the St. St.

Joseph Ridge community in La Crosse County. Joseph’s Ridge Lions Club will soon have a new shelter at our park to rent and enjoy tentatively available May 1, 2025. With that comes a new rental procedure and fees. The shelter availability can be seen on the Town of Greenfields calendar (https://www.greenfieldlaxwi.gov/government/calendar/) and the rental agreement can be found under community forms and permits (https://www.greenfieldlaxwi.gov/community/forms-and-permits/). Paper copies will also be made available at the townhall but limited due to hours of operation. Upon receipt of a signed rental agreement and the appropriate fee, the date requested will be reserved. This can be dropped off/mailed to the Town of Greenfield. All other information is available on the rental agreement. Questions can be sent to [email protected] or W***y Williams: 608-792-9258.

Last Saturday, members of the St. Joseph Ridge Lions Club stood together to honor our friend and fellow Lion, Al Gerke.

Al was the heart and soul of our club and a dedicated servant to our community.

Al was a moral compass for our club, leading through his kindness, humility, integrity, and unwavering commitment to serving others. His example helped shape the character of the St. Joseph Ridge Lions Club and inspired those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

As we stood together, we were reminded that while we have lost a remarkable Lion, his legacy of service, compassion, and fellowship will continue to guide us. The greatest way we can honor Al is to carry forward the values he lived every day.

Thank you, Al, for your friendship, your leadership, and your years of selfless service. You will forever be a part of the St. Joseph Ridge Lions Club family and will be deeply missed.

🦁❤️ Remembering Lion Al Gerke ❤️🦁

The St. Joseph Ridge Lions Club is saddened by the loss of our fellow Lion and friend, Al Gerke.

Al was someone who was always willing to be involved and lend a helping hand. Whether it was collecting cans, bringing joy to our community as Santa, or simply stepping up whenever he was needed, he was an important part of our Lions family.

His dedication, willingness to serve, and friendly spirit will be deeply missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him.

Al was more than just a member of our club—he was part of its moral compass, helping guide us through his actions, dedication, and example of service to others.

📸 The photo shared with this post was taken at the St. Joseph Ridge Lions Club meeting in June, which was the last Lions meeting Al attended. That evening, he was honored with the Wisconsin Lions Foundation (WLF) Presidential Award, recognizing his exceptional leadership, dedicated service, and profound contributions to the Foundation’s statewide projects.

It is a fitting memory of a man who gave so much of himself to the Lions and to helping others.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Al’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

🇺🇸 **Honoring Those Who Serve** 🇺🇸

The St. Joseph Ridge Lions Club is proud to share our Veterans & First Responders Memorial, a lasting tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country and those who continue to protect our communities every day.

This memorial honors all branches of the United States Armed Forces as well as the first responders whose dedication, sacrifice, and service make a difference in our lives.

A special thank you to Ethan Hegge, who completed this project as his West Salem High School Senior Exit Project. In memory of his grandfather, Ethan handcrafted a whiskey barrel coffee table, organized a raffle, and donated the proceeds to help make this memorial possible.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to La Crosse Fireplace Company, whose generous contribution played a major role in bringing this project to completion.

The St. Joseph Ridge Lions Club is honored to have helped create a place where our community can pause, reflect, and remember those who have served and those who continue to answer the call.

This year's recap has a little bit of everything! Joe Lion even got an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience with the fireworks crew before the sky lit up over St. Joseph Ridge.

One question we heard all evening was...

🚁 "Whose drone was flying over the event?"

We'll let that remain a mystery... at least for now. 😉

And a very special thank you to Eric Johnston and Tom Graham for generously sharing their incredible aerial footage from the airplane. Their unique perspective helped capture our celebration in a way few people ever get to see.

✈️ As for whether Yeti managed to sneak aboard the airplane... well... we can't confirm or deny anything. 😄 You'll just have to watch the video—and come back next year—to see what surprises Joe Lion and Yeti might have in store!
