💻 October 12 is the feast day of St. Carlo Acutis, the Church’s first millennial saint. He passed away on this day 20 years ago.

Carlo loved computers, video games and the internet. He also loved the Eucharist and used his technology skills to share information about Eucharistic miracles.
⁣
Pope Leo XIV canonized Carlo in 2025 and later praised him as someone who used the internet skillfully for good without becoming its slave.

There is a new name on the Church’s calendar this October 9.
⁣
Pope Leo XIV proclaimed St. John Henry Newman a Doctor of the Church in 2025. Today's memorial was then added to calendar beginning this year.
⁣
A Doctor of the Church is a saint whose teaching offers an especially important contribution to Catholic theology and spiritual life. Newman became known for his careful search for truth, his writings on conscience and his explanation of how Christian doctrine develops while remaining faithful to its roots.
