The La Crosse Exercise and Health Program (LEHP) is a university sponsored health and fitness program. The program focuses on primary and secondary cardiac disease prevention. In addition, the LEHP is very active in conducting research and presenting cardiopulmonary rehabilitation workshops, which are attended by individuals from all over the world. Since it's inception in 1971, the LEHP has provi

ded exercise opportunities for over 2,500 participants in the adult fitness and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation units. The cardiac rehabilitation unit is designed for individuals who have known heart disease, have had a cardiac event such as a heart attack or bypass surgery, or are at high risk for developing coronary disease. We work closely with each participant’s personal physician and our goal is to provide each member with an individualized exercise program of exercise and risk factor modification. The program is staffed by energetic, qualified graduate students from the Clinical Exercise Physiology masters program. In addition, our facility is equipped with emergency medical equipment should the need arise.
