Yes, please plant more trees!

Our Crew spent a few days at Greutsmacher Park helping the Town of Caledonia plant more than 400 trees around the park and sledding hill. Species included Norway Spruce, Serbian Spruce, and Canadian Hemlock (bare roots and plugs).

These plantings will provide privacy and help kiddos on the sledding hill head the right direction.

We also teamed up with Blake, a volunteer leading the development of the park’s mountain bike trails and skills track. Together, we built and installed nine riding features with varying levels of difficulty, creating more opportunities for riders to build skills and confidence on the trails.

💙Big thanks to the Town of Caledonia and the volunteers helping make this park even better for the community.

We’re jazzed to bring more folks into the world of mountain biking while keeping sustainable trail stewardship front and center. As the sport continues to grow, so does the importance of protecting the ecosystems surrounding these trails and ensuring they’re designed with accessibility in mind for all riders.

This season also includes a collaborative project in Duluth with ! 🤝

OTM-sponsored fieldwork starts in July… it’s time to riiiiiiide!!! ⛏️⛏️⛏️☀️🫶

Our Strike Crew rolls out today for a summer of service in support of the National Park Service. 👋👋

They’re heading across the Upper Midwest — starting at St. Croix National Scenic Riverway for chainsaw training — before jumping into invasive species removal and conservation projects at Voyageurs National Park, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Portage National Monument, River Raisin National Battlefield Park, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Tell you what, that doesn’t sound like a boring summer.

🛻After a few big weeks of training with all the Crew Leaders here in La Crosse, we’re hyped to send this crew out into the field.

Compression and tension, the name of the game. We’re all one with the saw now.

Huge shoutout to Luke Saunders with Blue Heron Stewardship for certifying our Crew Leaders and getting our saws ready to rip this season.

There are a lot of great things about our Crew Program… but if we’re being honest, the annual llama hike might take the top spot. 🦙

Big shoutout to Midwest Llama Packing for such a cool experience.

Between partner projects, we always encourage our crews to try something new in their free time and explore the communities they’re living in for the season.
