Coulee Region BMX Project

We regret to inform you that the Coulee BMX Project was not successful in getting enough community members (10) to sign up for Trunk or Treat. We took yesterday to evaluate our sign ups (3 trunks), donations (1 - $25) and the cost of executing the event ($200) and we had to make a difficult decision to cancel.

Originally we had lots of verbal interest from potential volunteers and then when we called upon them and community businesses, we didn’t see the same interest. Our event won’t we successful with support of volunteers.

I do want to thank Crimson Clover Floral, Bangor First Responders, Augie’s Bar, Bangor Village BOD and Clerk, as they are amongst the few that stood up to help us and we owe you gratitude. We hope that we can try again in the future. This was a good exercise for us and we learned a lot. Hope to work with you all in the future.

BMX was once a "teenager" sport. But today, you see all ages out on the BMX track. The tides are changing! And according to this article by Stantec, "The community will not only have a new recreation option, but it is a facility that will generate revenue—talk about a win-win!"

A BMX track can be a great complement to athletic and recreation fields and continues to grow in popularity.
