Dining in the Dark

You are all invited to a FREE Narcan training event!!

Diverse-OT and Physician Assistant Student Society are hosting a Narcan training event on Wednesday, March 26th from 4:30-5:30pm in Centennial Hall room 1309.

Op**te use disorder is a rising public health crisis and over the past few years, harm reduction efforts have advocated for the inclusion of Narcan alongside AEDs and CPR emergency kits. Even at UWL, Narcan is kept with AEDs in a handful of buildings across campus! As future healthcare professionals, it's important for us to gain familiarity with all emergency response materials and equipment available to us.

Last week Diverse-OT got together and made 20 individual hygiene bags with items including soap, hand sanitizer, body cleansing wipes, toothbrush/toothpaste, floss picks, deodorant, and razors. These bags were donated to the REACH center in La Crosse, WI. This is a walk-in resource center to support those experiencing homelessness or at risk. They provide various services including healthcare, food pantry, violence prevention services, and housing opportunities.

School Supply Drive

Please consider donating hardly used or new school supplies. This year we will be donating to Northside Elementary School in La Crosse. All donations will be accepted until September 30th.

Donation boxes are located:
- 2nd and 4th floor of the Health Science Center
- Main entrance of the Union building
