🦊Week 5 of Autumn Memory Camp was a little WILD!

We had some very special visitors thanks to Kathy, a wildlife educator with the Coulee Region Humane Society! Amelia the flying squirrel, Waffles the opossum, a scaleless Everglades rat snake, and Yuki the beautiful white fox! Kathy shared some fascinating insights into wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.

But wait… there was MORE!

Cut Thyme 🎶 joined us for an afternoon of music, singing and dancing! What a fun group of musicians, sharing their love of music with our campers!

Greatful for the community connections that make days like this possible! 💜

Prost! 🍁 Week 4 of Autumn Memory Camp was an Oktoberfest celebration!

Nikki from La Crosse Dance Centre got us moving with dancing and chair activities before we jumped into some La Crosse Oktoberfest button exploration through the years. We chose favorites, shared what caught our eye, and even had a few prizes along the way!

Lots of creating, laughing, moving, connecting and simply enjoying the day together. 💜

This week at Memory Camp was simply Gourd-Geous! 🎃

Did you know the world’s largest pumpkin weighs nearly 3,000 pounds and measures more than 21 feet around?! We had a lot of fun putting that into perspective!

Another beautiful day of creating, laughing, moving, learning, and simply enjoying being together. 💜 That’s what Memory Camp is all about.

This week at Memory Camp, we were spreading our wings! 🦋 Cindy took us through the amazing life cycle and migration of monarchs before we headed outside to send newly tagged butterflies on their way to Mexico!

Tom Conrad turned up the music, and the singing, dancing and laughter followed. 🎶

UPDATE: SPARK! On The GO! is still a GO! 🍂

A little weather isn’t stopping us! With Monday’s forecast, we’re making a venue pivot and moving our September SPARK! On The GO! adventure indoors.

Instead of Windy Ridge Ranch, we’ll be gathering at All Glazed Up! for a fun afternoon of autumn ceramic painting!

Autumn Memory Camp kicked off this week at The Nature Place! 🍂

Whooo could ask for a better start? 🦉 A huge thank you to Andie and Ruby, a Great Horned Owl from the International Owl Center. Andie’s knowledge and the way she connected with our campers was incredible, and Ruby gave us an unforgettable up-close experience — even showing off those amazing wings!

🦋 Next week: Monarch Mariachi Migration! Cindy will share the incredible journey of the monarch, followed by music with Tom Conrad and more Memory Camp moments along the way.

💜 IT’S ALMOST WALK DAY, LA CROSSE! 💜

The 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s — La Crosse is coming up Saturday, September 19 at Riverside Park, and the EndAlz Fest Foundation is proud to support this incredible day in our community!

Come out for an exciting and uplifting morning filled with hope, honor, remembrance, connection and plenty of purple as our community comes together for everyone impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. 💜

🍁 Autumn Memory Camp

Autumn Memory Camp is starting September 8 at The Nature Place, and things are getting a little WILD!

First up: Hooting Season! Ruby, a great horned owl, and her handler Andi from the International Owl Center are coming to share owl calls, a little owl know-how, and of course, Ruby herself.

EndAlz Fest Foundation Memory Camp is respite care with a camp experience — offered free for individuals in the beginning to mid-stage of a dementia diagnosis. Campers spend the day in a safe, welcoming environment with trained facilitators, while caregivers get something just as important: time for themselves.
