Help Fight Hunger in Our Community

What: Scouting for Food
When: Saturday, March 28th | Starting at 9 AM

Cub Scout Pack 98 and BSA Troop 33 will be out in La Crescent collecting non-perishable food donations to support the La Crescent Food Shelf.

It’s easy to participate—just place your donation outside your front door by 9 am, and Scouts will pick it up!

Heads up: This Sunday, March 22nd, Scouts will be around town dropping off reminder notes with details. Be sure to give them a wave!

A huge shoutout to all of our scouts who designed, built, and raced their cars in the 2026 Pinewood Derby. From creative paint jobs to lightning-fast racers, the imagination and effort on display was incredible. 🏎️💨

Thanks to all the parents who helped make it happen with a special shout to Lee Walraven for setting up the track. Already looking forward to next year!

Pack 98 went intergalactic! 🚀

Huge thanks to Chad Wilkinson and the School District of La Crosse for hosting us at the District’s Exploratorium! Our Scouts blasted off on an out-of-this-world adventure, exploring constellations, touring the planets, and even reliving the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs (don’t worry… we made it back safely). 🦖

It was an unforgettable night of curiosity, discovery, and cosmic fun. The future astronauts of Pack 98 are officially cleared for launch! 🪐

A few pictures from our Blue and Gold Banquet. One of the most important parts of Cub Scouts is recognition, every Scout should feel proud of what they have accomplished.

Popcorn prizes, belt loops and adventure pins aren’t just “awards”, they are reminders that hard work pays off.

Gateway Area Council Klondike Derby — Get Ready!

Scouts, get ready to test your skills, teamwork, and Scout spirit at this year’s Klondike Derby at Justin Trails Resort in Sparta! The Klondike is a winter-themed patrol competition where Scouts work together to tackle Scout-craft challenges, pull a sled or wagon packed with gear, and race through a course of fun, skill-testing stations.

What to expect:

Patrol-based events testing Scout skills & leadership

Sled or wagon sledding — sleds carry your equipment as you travel between stations

Fun, teamwork, and winter adventure with fellow Scouts

Who: Scouts BSA members (and AOL's) from across the Council

Where: Justin Trails Resort- Sparta, WI
