The VFW Auxiliary is pleased to present the Continuing Education Scholarship to assist members and their immediate family members who wish to further their education by pursing a college degree or career direction at a vocational/technical school.

Who is Eligible to Apply?
• Applicant must be 21 years of age or older.
• Applicant must be an Auxiliary member (for at least 1 year) OR the child or spouse of an Auxiliary member.

What is the Scholarship Amount?
• Four $1,250 scholarships will be awarded each year, one in each of the four VFW Auxiliary Conferences.

What are the Scholarship Submission Requirements?
Each applicant must:
• Answer all questions on the Continuing Education Scholarship application
• Write a brief essay (no more than 300 words) describing their commitment to their goals and how this scholarship will help them attain these goals.

What is the Application Deadline?
• February 15, 2024

We have nearly half a million members nationwide who volunteer millions of hours and fundraise millions of dollars for charitable projects that benefit veterans, military service personnel, and their families.

Through our National Programs, we assist the VFW pass or block legislation that impacts veterans and their families, provide nearly a million volunteer hours in the VA medical system, conduct patriotic programs with thousands of students and offer hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships for our nation’s youth.

Today is Veterans Day!

Celebrated annually on the anniversary of the end of World War I, Veterans Day was originally known as Armistice Day, this day differs from Memorial Day in that it is set aside to honor all those who have served, whether in wartime or peacetime, with a focus on living veterans (as opposed to in remembrance of those who’ve passed).
