STEAM Superheroes wants to thank Armin Shimerman for spending time with the students at the Chrysalis school in Uganda. They LOVE Star Trek and Deep Space Nine and it was such a special experience to meet Armin. Ben Parkinson the headmaster shared, "It was really a great session, and Armin was so good at interacting with the students and helping develop their confidence. The kids have been talking about the session all day."

Our mission at STEAM Superheroes is to inspire the next generation to pursue careers in STEAM. For these students meeting their Star Trek hero, they realize that anything is possible.

STEAM Superheroes Collaborates with PanCAN to honor Subrina Wood

STEAM Superheroes is thrilled to announce an inspiring collaboration with Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) for our upcoming comic book. This collaboration was made possible with the support and vision of Pamela Acosta Marquardt, Founder. This will be dedicated to STEAM Superheroes dear friend and former board member, Subrina Wood, who bravely fought pancreatic cancer until her passing last October.

In this comic book, our STEAM superheroes will represent the real-life champions engaged in the battle against cancer through research, clinical trials, surgeries, post-operative care and education. We are proud to have partnered with key members of the PanCAN team throughout the development of this project, including Tammy Buist, Senior Vice President of Business Development at PanCAN, who helped establish the collaboration and shape the vision for PanCAN’s involvement and Kristina Harris, PhD, Senior Director of Translational Research & Grants, who will continue working closely with the STEAM Superheroes team to help ensure the story captures both the spirit of heroism and the medical accuracy of the journey faced by patients and their families. Every one of us has felt the impact of cancer in our lives, and this project seeks to illuminate the true superheroes — the doctors, researchers, educators, and caregivers — who exemplify compassion and dedication in their work. Our goal is to foster hope for a future where cancer is no longer a death sentence.

A big shoutout to THE FLEET A Star Trek Costuming Fan Group for inviting us to share their booth event on Sunday, April 26th. We met so many amazing young people who got to be “The Captain” and sit in the Star Trek chair! A special thank you to and for the invite. Our love of Star Trek and Nichelle Nichols was the driving force behind STEAM Superheroes. STEAM Superheroes will be a vendor at Galaxy STEM FEST on Saturday, April 18th from 11am - 4pm. The event is being hosted by the Square PHX at 113 N 6th Street. This is a free event and there will be several fun hands-on activities for students.

Free stickers and comic books will be available with a $5.00 donation. Excited to be a vendor and inspire the next generation of thinkers and world changers! 🌍💻🌓📖

What an incredible day! Thank you to the for hosting the StudentsBuild National Summit event on Wednesday, March 11th at the YouTube Theatre. We chatted with so many amazing students ranging from 6th grade to seniors in high school. They were motivated, focused and excited about their future.

We are thrilled to be part of the and we met so many other members who attended. STEAM Superheroes looks forward to continuing our partnership and to build relationships with other organizations who are dedicated to inspiring young people. We look forward to attending next year. 💻🌎👩‍🎓🔬

Event Recap: STEAM Superheroes was thrilled to partner with the Arizona Science Center for their “Stellar Science” event. It. WAS. AWESOME. We beamed in two of our STEAM Superheroes: Dr. Swati Mohan and Dr. Nagini Paravastu Dalal, who both shared insights into their career journeys.And along with other science professionals, they provided hands on interactive activities that were out of this world amazing! With over 120+ attendees, it was a great success and a Valentine’s Day treat. Every child attending received a free gift bag that includes our STEAM Superhero comic book, sticker, patch and more.
