Hendry Soil and Water Conservation District Hendry SWCD assists landowners in managing Hendry County's natural resources. The first ballots were cast on July 22, 1944.

Hendry Soil & Water Conservation is a non-taxing, political subdivision of the State of Florida, organized by the landowners of Hendry County.

On August 13, Hendry and Glades Soil and Water Conservation Districts held a local work group meeting. Attending the meeting were representatives from the Florida Department of Agriculture, Farm Services Agency, USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service and Hendry and Glades District board supervisors.
The purpose of the meeting was to gather ideas and recommendations for criteria to be used in cost share for the EQIP program.
One of the main concerns for all who were in attendance was the issue of invasive species such as smutgrass and Brazilian Pepper and how to eradicate them.
