On August 13, Hendry and Glades Soil and Water Conservation Districts held a local work group meeting. Attending the meeting were representatives from the Florida Department of Agriculture, Farm Services Agency, USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service and Hendry and Glades District board supervisors.
The purpose of the meeting was to gather ideas and recommendations for criteria to be used in cost share for the EQIP program.
One of the main concerns for all who were in attendance was the issue of invasive species such as smutgrass and Brazilian Pepper and how to eradicate them.
