TRIM Notices: Property Appraisers mail "TRIM" notices (Notice of Proposed Property Taxes) in mid-August. These notices include information on your assessed value and the deadline for filing a petition to protest that value with the Value Adjustment Board (VAB), according to the Indian River Property Appraiser. The deadline to file a petition with the VAB is usually within 25 days of the mailing date of the TRIM notice.
Denial of Exemptions: If an exemption or classification is denied, property owners have 30 days from the mailing date of the denial letter to file a petition with the Value Adjustment Board.
