We had an incredible time hosting this Lakota/Dakota language weekend in New York! This event brought together passionate learners and created a vibrant atmosphere of language learning and connection. A big shoutout and heartfelt gratitude to Patricia Tarrant and the American Indian Community House for allowing us to use their space for this gathering. Your support was instrumental in making this weekend a success; we deeply appreciate it!

Our instructors, Šišóka Dúta and Alex FireThunder, led engaging sessions in both Lakota and Dakota dialects that enriched our understanding of language and gave learners tools for their language journeys. It was a pleasure to spend time with all of the passionate learners in the vibrant atmosphere here in the Big Apple.

We were honored to have Elder Eugene Black Crow in attendance again this year, sharing his wisdom and stories with us. Plus, we managed to sneak in another interview with him for the upcoming season 2 of Wičháho Blihélya!

We're excited about the memories made and look forward to more weekends filled with language, culture, and community connections. Thank you for being part of this awesome experience!
