Last week, we hosted our first-ever historic window repair workshop at the Preservation Texas Institute in Tehuacana! Participants traveled from across the state to learn the fundamentals of wood window restoration—working hands-on with the original windows of Louisiana Hall, a 1914 dormitory on campus.

We are grateful to Ron Siebler and Nicholas Bogosian for generously sharing their expertise as instructors!

This inaugural workshop marks the beginning of many future heritage trades training opportunities at the Institute. Visit savetexashall.org to learn more.

Last week we welcomed members of the Houston Seminar to Louisiana Hall in Tehuacana to share the building’s history and our vision for the future Preservation Texas Institute.

Built in 1914 as a dormitory for women attending Westminster College, Louisiana Hall was once the center of student life on campus. Once rehabilitated, it will be used for lodging, dining, and exhibitions as part of the Institute.

Today, work continues on Phase One of the building’s exterior restoration, including much-needed siding repairs and repainting.
