Alex Villalobos is the Chief of Staff for Hays County and is an accomplished public service leader with a track record of effectively overseeing administrative initiatives as well as facilitating collaborative community engagement. He has a Master Peace Officer Certification and an extensive background in leading criminal investigations and coordinating efforts with multiple law enforcement agenci
es. Throughout his career in law enforcement, he has worked to support prosperous economic development by working diligently on improving the safety and security of the overall community. As a former member of the Texas State University Police Department, a former City Council Member in the City of Kyle, and in his current role as Chief of Staff, he has gained insightful experience participating in the legislative, administrative, and budget processes in one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. He has been a resident of Hays County for over two decades and is an alumnus of Texas State University, holding a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. Alex recently celebrated 27 years of marriage and is the proud father of a Lehman High School graduate and a student-athlete at Hays High School.
