4am the barking was intense, urgent and ground shaking I was sure it was a BIG 🧸bear. Maybe a mom with cubs? The commotion🗣️🗣️🗣️ went on for a long time. I yelled 🗣️from my bed several times FRRREEEEDDD‼️🪖

I finally was out of REM, and stumbled to find a flashlight. Below my bedroom window I saw a tiny tabby (4 weeks??). I ran in a panic to the yard
Fred had it cornered, at one point flinging it by its defensive outstretched paw and tiny claws.

Screaming on the top of my lungs (because that’s how rescuers act) unbelievably I was able to grab Fred’s collar as he’s fighting me and dragged him inside My Slippers lost in the melee! And I am pants-less. 🍑

I ran back out fully expecting the worst situation. I’m thinking blood 🩸 and guts. With all the luck 🍀 of the saints little kitten was feisty, feral and ready to kick my ass. There was NO way it could stay here. I put it back over the fence hoping mama was near.

I did a full recon at 9 am and no sign of cats 🐈‍⬛ anywhere.

Cats cats go away and you’ll live to see another day.

On reflection: Fred did poorly in the protection department. This is why the breeder was going to shoot him. He didn’t have the “right stuff”.
