A Message to Our Friends and Supporters - from Kuna American Legion Post #142
For many years, the Kuna American Legion Post 142’s b**r booth has been a Kuna Days tradition, and we have always been grateful for the incredible support from our community. Every beverage you purchased helped fund Veterans' programs, youth activities, scholarships, community projects, and countless other efforts that benefit Kuna. Your support has made a real difference, and for that we are sincerely thankful.
Unfortunately, you won't find us serving b**r at Kuna Days this year. After much discussion and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision not to participate. This decision was not made lightly. With the Chamber of Commerce now operating its own b**r booth while still requiring the American Legion to turn over 50% of our profits to them, we determined that participating is no longer financially responsible for our nonprofit organization.
Simply put, competing against another b**r booth for the same customers, while giving away half of what we earn, doesn't make sense for an organization whose mission is serving Veterans, active-duty military, their families, youth programs, and the Kuna community. We'd rather invest our volunteers' time and energy into programs that directly benefit those we serve than spend countless hours raising funds only to see much of the proceeds go elsewhere.
This decision is in no way a reflection of our appreciation for our loyal customers. Your support over the years has enabled us to honor our nation's heroes, assist veterans in need, sponsor local scholarships and youth programs, and give back to our community in meaningful ways. We are truly grateful for every person who stopped by our booth.
We hope you'll continue to support the Kuna American Legion Post 142 throughout the year at our community events and fundraisers, where every dollar raised goes directly toward fulfilling our mission of service.
Thank you for your understanding, your loyalty, and your continued support. While we're disappointed we won't be seeing you at our booth this year, we look forward to seeing you at future American Legion events.
For God and Country,
Bonnie Davis
