Today we remember the tragic events that happened 25 years ago. We encourage everyone to take a moment today to reflect back on that terrible day and say a prayer for everyone lost and affected by 9/11.

After a lot of discussion, we regret to inform everyone that we have decided to cancel the First Responders Parade this year.
With all of the traffic through Kulpmont due to the 901 construction, we have decided to not take the risk of adding to the chaos.
This parade puts a lot of citizens, many of which are children, on the highway. We have decided that the safety of everyone who marches this parade is more important than the parade itself.
We plan to continue the tradition of this parade next year under better circumstances.
This was not an easy decision to make, but we hope everyone understands, and will be ready for an amazing parade when we come back strong next year!

It is with deep sorrow that we learn of the passing of a dear friend, Billy Milbrand.

Billy was the true meaning of a community icon and volunteer. The countless of hours put in and lives he touched throughout the many organizations that he was a part of over the years is unfathomable.

We’ve had the privilege of working with Billy over the years with many of the parades and events we’ve held that included the Our Boy’s Band. He was always eager to be a part of anything that was going on in town and loved getting the band together. His commitment to public service is something that we can all commend and look up to.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his Family, Friends, Shamokin Fire Bureau, and all others touched by Billy.

📣WELCOME TO KULPMONT!📣

Over the past two days, the Welcome to Kulpmont signs have been installed at the 4 entrances to town.
Though the job is not totally complete, we could not help but share the progress. There is still some work to do, and we will be having a dedication ceremony once everything is finalized.
We would just like to take the time to hand out some well deserved appreciation.
Below are all of the following that made this project happen.

Below are the families that graciously offered their property to us for sign placement.

Without you, we would not have been able to get these signs in the proper placement, so we thank you very much for your cooperation.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved member and close friend, Rich Chesney.

After coming aboard the committee, Rich was quick to shine and show his true love and dedication to Kulpmont. Rich was always that smiling, happy face, no matter when you saw him. He was a part of almost every project, parade, and event we’ve done since joining the Committee.
We’re very grateful for all the time Rich has spent putting effort back into the community, but mostly thankful for the time that we were able to spend with him doing so.

Rich, your bright smile and contagious charisma showed us all what it truly looks like to enjoy life. In one way or another, you left your own mark on each one of us for which I’m sure we all have our own personal memories that we can share.
We hope you’re up there now with Joe having a nice glass of Vino as you bring him up to speed on what he has missed.
Please watch over us and support us from above.
We love you Rich, until we meet again.

Tonight, in recognition of our 10th Anniversary, several of our members were present at the council meeting to accept this Proclimation from both the Borough Council and Mayor Sacavage. This was a nice surprise to us, and very unexpected.
We can’t thank the Borough enough for supporting us in all of our endeavors to better this great community. We will do our best to continue that mission!
