They come to her. They find her instinctively ... the strays, the abandoned, the traumatized, the lost and the wounded.
It isn't because of the sign on her door, but the love in her heart. She's a rescuer, a friend to animals and people.
It's her calling from above to make it safe and love them whole. And she does.

If you don't have a lot of space to place shelters for multiple cats, why not go vertical? Just like many human New Yorkers, feral cats can enjoy high-rise living. A few humble foam shipping boxes can be turned into an impressive space-saving cat apartment house pretty easily. Make each box into a shelter (cut a door hole, add flooring, wall covering, and straw). Arrange the shelters into a stack and glue them together with exterior-grade, plastic-safe construction adhesive. Add plywood ramps and landings by securing them to the front wall with screws, brackets, and construction adhesive. Protect the whole "tower" from the elements with a thick coat of plastic-safe exterior paint. The model shown here was designed by an architect, but a person with basic carpentry skills could copy it.
