Autumns Run will be held on September 5th, 2015 at the Rotary Park in McAlester, Ok. It is a day devoted to family, fun, motorcycles, cars, and music. The proceeds earned from Autumns Run will assist a adult or child with disabilities in acquiring a needed item or service that is not provided by from any other source. Autumn was a young lady with disabilities who passed away on December 4th, 2015.
Autumn became disabled at the age of three years old due to a viral encephalitis. She almost lost her life due to the severity of the infection. She was in a coma for 3mths and spent almost 5mths in the hospital. When Autumn came out of the coma she was completely disabled. She required 24hr care, used a wheelchair and communicated with her eyes. Although, physically she required full care, mentally she developed as any other child and young adult does. This was due, in large part, to the way we believed in God, in living, and the importance of having a quality of life for all people. On June 20th, 2014 Autumn's health started a gradual decline, with her eventually having to be taken off of life support on December 4th, 2014. We want Autumns Run to be a legacy to the life that Autumn fought so very hard to live here on earth. We want it to serve as a day dedicated to the importance of living a quality of life, by assisting a family in our community meet the needs of their loved one with disabilities.
