Kosse Community Center/Kosse Tabernacle

This building was built in 1912 and is now a state recognized Historical Structure. The revival was held in the Methodist Church. The 4800 sq.ft. Walter Graeber.

The reason for the Kosse Tabernacle is because in 1912 popular evangelist Abe Mulkey held a revival in Kosse. It was so packed and 75 people accepted Christ that night.Fourty-Five people joined the Methodist Church that night and thirty more joined other denominations.After such a large crowd the town's fathers decided a tabernacle was needed. The $2000.00 needed to build it was raised and a short

time later it was built in 1912.It has served many purposes thru out History. In 1935 the Kosse Schoolhouse was burnt down. With local kids needing a school the Tabernancle went thru a major over-haul. It was converted into a school for 6 grades. It was divided into 6 rooms for grades 6-11. A new roof,new floor,heating system and fourty-eight windows were installed. It was used for a school until 1937 until a new school was built. In 1970 it was decided it should have running water and a cement floor. cement floor was poured in 1971.A drop ceiling was added by a generous couple putting up collateral to get a loan from the bank, that couple being Mr. & Mrs. Dances were held once a month to raise money for improvements. It was becoming known as the Kosse Community Center. In 1984 it gained its non-profit status. In 1987 air conditioning was added. It host many events even today. Inside you will find salvaged chairs and a old stage from the old schoolhouse. Organizations may rent out the center today.

Mark and Jennifer Mackey are hosting a special event and free meal at the Kosse Community Center on Saturday, August 22 from 6:00PM – 7:30PM.
Digital Bible Society (DBS), based in Conroe, Texas, translates the Bible into foreign, unreached people group languages around the world. They distribute the Bible, Bible Resources, Films and Digital Audio Players to nations where the Gospel is NOT allowed and where there are no "known" missionaries.

🌺 A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the Kosse Homecoming Aloha Parade one of the best parades we've ever had! From the creative floats and decorations to the community spirit and enthusiasm, everyone truly went all out and made this year's parade something special.
We are so grateful to all of the participants, volunteers, businesses, organizations, and spectators who came together to celebrate and make our Homecoming a success!

Parade lineup begins at 9:15 a.m to 9:30 a.m. tomorrow!

Please enter on North Narcissus by the cemetery to get in line for the parade. Volunteers will be there to direct you where to go.

📍 Even-numbered entries: Line up on the left side
📍 Odd-numbered entries: Line up on the right side

Please pull a little off the road when possible so other floats and entries can get by.

We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow and celebrate another great Kosse Homecoming! 🎈🇺🇸🎊
