EAA 235 Poker Run/BBQ Bash Fly-In!

Reminder--the Poker Run/BBQ Bash is this weekend, Saturday, May 16th! The Poker Run is evolving this year! Fly in, or drive in, and come on out for lunch between 12:00-2:00pm for pulled chicken, pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw and maybe mac & cheese. Bring a dessert if you like, but more importantly, plan to make a donation to The Flying Squirrel youth program. Come out, hang out, eat, and have something fun to do on a Spring Saturday!

June 14th--this coming Saturday--is the WWII Barnstorming Days CAF Event at Indianapolis Executive Airport, KTYQ! There's a lot going on, food, warbird rides, education, fun; so check out details below!

Tora! Tora! Tora!

Our guest speaker at lunch yesterday was Steve Stants, a member of the Indiana Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF).

Steve spoke about those unique aircraft pictured behind him. These two warbirds were donated to the CAF in 1972 after they stared in a movie of the same name. They now star in Tora Tora Tora airshows, which is a real-life re-enactment of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

It’s not every day that you get to be up close and personal with such a living part of history!

The Flying Squirrels summer program starts this Tuesday, June 11th!

We will meet at the Kokomo Airport at 9:00am until approximately 2:00pm every Tuesday for the next five weeks.

Flying Squirrels - the EAA Chapter 235 Ray Aviation Scholarship window is now open! Applications are due by March 15th, 2024.

This is a wonderful opportunity to make pursuing your private pilot license a reality!

Hello Flying Squirrels!

Our local EAA Chapter 235 will be holding their chapter meeting this Thursday, February 15th at the “big hangar” at the Kokomo Airport. The Ground School/VMC Meeting will take place at 6pm with the regular meeting starting at 7pm.

Note: there will be no individual Flying Squirrels meeting this month but we encourage you to attend the EAA Chapter meeting!

The first meeting of 2024 will be this Thursday, January 18th, at 6:30pm located at the FTC “Big Hangar” at the Kokomo Airport. The EAA Chapter 235 meeting will take place right after at 7pm, and all are encouraged to stick around.
