Leadership Kokomo

Leadership Kokomo LK has trained 1,000 leaders since 1982! LK begins in January with a full-day mandatory orientation and ends in December with a graduation luncheon.

Leadership Kokomo is a program of Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo in partnership with the City of Kokomo, Kokomo Thriving Center Indiana Wesleyan University, and Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance. Our goal is to prepare emerging leaders for involvement in our area by showing them aspects of the community they would not normally see and by teaching leadership skills that will help them

with their day-to-day lives, personally and professionally, as well as in any leadership role they undertake. Class does not meet in June, July or August. There is an overnight retreat and attendance is mandatory. Most class sessions are from 8:00 a.m. to Noon on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. To successfully complete this phase of Leadership Kokomo, a participant is expected to attend all sessions. Participants are introduced to the community by means of panels, lectures, on-site visits, group discussions and simulations. In addition, there are some outside assignments that will require some personal time. Each Leadership Kokomo class participant also makes a commitment to work on a class project or projects. This is your opportunity to get a “behind the scenes” view of Kokomo and Howard County and become part of Kokomo’s future!
