Join us as we come together with family and friends to remember and celebrate the special people who are no longer with us—but always in our hearts.
Wear something that reminds you of your loved one—a favorite color, a cherished shirt, or even a silly costume that would’ve made them laugh. This day is about joyful remembrance, shared stories, and celebrating lives that continue to inspire us.
Let’s run, walk, and honor together. šŸ’œ

A memorial marker at the Butterfly Run holds deep emotional and symbolic significance—it’s more than just a sign with a name.

šŸ¦‹ Here’s why it matters:
- Personal Tribute: It gives participants a tangible way to honor a loved one’s memory, making the event feel more personal and heartfelt.
- Visual Remembrance: Seeing the markers along the course creates a powerful visual tribute, reminding everyone why they’re running or walking.
- Shared Grief, Shared Strength: It fosters a sense of community among those who are grieving, showing that they’re not alone in their loss.
- Conversation Starter: These markers often spark meaningful conversations and stories, helping people connect through shared experiences.
- Symbol of Hope: Paired with the butterfly theme, the markers reflect transformation, remembrance, and the enduring impact of those we’ve lost.

The NACG is thinking of those who are missing a cousin on National Cousins Day, today. Cousins often are not just our family, but our closest friends, and their absence can be deeply felt. It's okay to feel a mix of emotions and to give yourself space today if you need it. šŸ’™

Say their name . . .

Say their name . . .

You probably didn’t know that July is Bereaved Parents' Month.

That’s okay. Most people don’t.

Honestly, I wish I didn’t.

Because to know what this month means…
you have to have lost a child.

Not just lost them — but kept living without them.

You have to know what it’s like to answer ā€œHow many kids do you have?ā€
and feel that silent ache where their name should go.

You have to know how it feels when the world keeps spinning,
and your world stopped.

Bereaved Parents' Month isn’t about awareness campaigns or hashtags.

It’s about all the things we don’t say out loud.
Like how grief shows up in your body.
How heavy silence can be.
How sometimes you don’t even recognize yourself anymore.

It’s about loving someone who isn’t here,
and learning to live a life they’re not in —
without ever letting them go.

So if you know someone who’s lost a child,
don’t wait for the perfect words.
Just show up.

Say their name. Ask about them. Sit with them in the quiet.

Not just in July.

Always.

This July, don't just scroll. Tag a bereaved parent. Say their child's name. Help us remind the world they mattered — and still do.

Hospice is not a diagnosis, it is a plan of care for the diagnosis. It is a collaboration of a team of people who come together to help guide and support those who are dying and the people who love and care for them. Hospice offers resources, supplies, and education in a way that softens one of the hardest times we will all experience.

Talking about death and dying will not make it happen sooner, neither will starting hospice.

We can’t change the outcome. If you were referred to us it is because a terminal diagnosis was given, and that is out of our control. But what is in our control is the ability to show up for you in a way that makes you feel less alone.

Please don’t wait for the last minute to start hospice if you or someone you love has received a terminal diagnosis and it has been advised by your medical team that hospice would be the next step. Traditionally, this means a timeframe of six months or less is expected, however, sometimes being on hospice can offer you a little more time and a better quality of life at the end of life.

And remember, hospice is not the boss of you. You have a voice and we want to hear it. If you are confused or upset about something, or need more or less of something, let your hospice team know so that they can do things in a way that aligns with what you need. Your voice deserves to be heard.

Our goal is to provide you with the tools and education you need to feel confident and well prepared, to remove fear and uncertainty, and to ensure that the landing is soft for the person who is about to take their very last breath. I believe that all human beings deserve that.
