A Makerspace in Kokomo, Indiana Dues are used to maintain tools and space for member projects.

SHAK is a community of makers, tinkerers and artisans who collaborate and pursue new ideas -for fun, for community service or as entrepreneurs.

Katelyn hosted her first Kinusaiga last night with great success! Three amazing women came and created gorgeous, one-of-a-kind sunset portraits using fun fabric scrapes.
There is another class scheduled at the end of May, so don't miss out on your chance to make your own sunset!

Private Stained Glass Party!
Perfect for work party, girls night, group date night, Church small groups, mother-daughter “play” date, and more!
Students will become stained glass artists in this 4-5 hour* class while creating a one-of-a-kind Christmas ornament or decoration. Parties can choose to make an ornament, ranging from Christmas trees, stocking, angels, cardinals, stockings, and more, or choose to all make a Nativity. Students will then cut their own glass, grind the pieces to fit, foil, and solder their own ornaments!
Parties must contain at least 5 students, with a maximum of 10. Students 12 years of age and older are welcome, but minors must be accompanied by an adult willing to help. (Assisting adult is free if they are simply helping the minor. If the adult wants to make their own pieces they must pay as a student as well.)
$75 per person for non-members
$60 per person for members
Students MUST wear closed toe shoes and dress in comfortable clothing they don’t mind getting a little messy.
Safety is the first priority in this class, therefore all students and assisting adults must be able to listen and follow direction for safety and success in the class. If a student, or assisting adult, is unable to follow directions, especially safety directions, the person will be asked to leave SHAK immediately without a refund.
*Length of class depends on the number of students and the speed to which students work. On average it takes most beginners 3 hours to complete a project, but bigger groups may take longer.

We held our first Beginners Stained Glass Nativity today. All 8 students made beautiful nativity scenes to decorate for the upcoming season!
Look for more classes to be added this coming week!

We hosted our first Beginners Stained Glass Christmas Ornament class last night.
Seven awesome ladies came and made ornaments ranging from Christmas trees, Santa Hats, Birds, and even a Pickle with a Santa hat!
This class was so much fun!
Looking at adding more classes for December and possibly a few at the end of November. Comment a date you'd like to see a class. 🎄🤶🏼🦌

Last night SHAK hosted our first Woodworking for Women class. Five amazing women learned some basic woodworking skills while creating a beautiful, one-of-a-kind, trivet for their kitchens.
The women all got to choose their section of wood from an assortment of gorgeous cherry wood planks. They then learned how to cut the wood, use a router to round the edges, and sand the wood to a butter soft texture. Then they were all given the opportunity to personalize it by engraving a design with our laser. Afterwards they learned how to attach feet to the bottom and finish off their trivet with a food-safe finish.
This class was so much fun for all and we look forward to hosting more classes to help teach women some basic woodworking skills in an encouraging, non-judgemental environment.
