Stiles-Clark Auction The Spouses Association of Kodiak is proud to be hosting the 42nd Stiles-Clark Auction in Kodiak, AK. In previous years, the auction has generated over $33,000!

Proceeds from the Stiles-Clark Auction directly fund scholarships, provide grants to Kodiak organizations and support the Santa to the Villages program. The Stiles-Clark Auction is a time-honored event to raise funds for non-profit organizations in Kodiak, our Santa to the Villages program--a well-loved tradition within the Kodiak community, and our scholarship program. Donations to the auction are generously contributed by local businesses, members of the Kodiak and Coast Guard communities, and from across the country. Without the support and generosity of these donors, this event would not be possible, and for that we at the Spouses Association of Kodiak are deeply grateful!

This is the 12 inch blue swirl fishing float that I’ll be putting a giant tree on for the Stiles-Clark Auction! A float like this is rare to find and has been sitting in my personal collection for that last couple of years. I hope everyone else will be as excited about this float as I am!
Japanese floats like this get their swirling colors due to the dye of the of the different glass colors as they are creating the float. Fishing floats like this are often created with recycled glass, and this one glows green under a 365 wavelength black light, showing that it contains manganese in it as well.
This is a working float made for fishing, not a contemporary.

I have the sculpture mostly finished at this point after many hours of work. I’m excited to put on the finishing touches at the auction!
