Three of us made it to the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride for Knoxville today. They moved it from Knoxville to Townsend as organizers were concerned about the number of rider fatalities lately. So instead of city street most of the tide was through Smoky Mountain National Park. Even the part that went through Gaitlinburg wasn’t bad as least traffic I’ve seen there.

Virginia and I are registered for Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride next Sunday May 17th.
My info on where to start was incorrect. It is not starting on Kingston Pike but at Artistic Bean Roastery 8027 E Lamar Alexander Pkwy Townsend TN 37882

We are in the process of creating the ride schedule for our first year as a new club. As a result we would like some input from our members. Especially as to what sort of rides and frequency. We are intending to do a variety of rides from 50cc friendly in town rides like a mural ride that will end at a place for lunch to full day rides in the local mountains. Several members we know like attending rally’s so if a rally is within a day or two’s ride or members are interested will also be added to the schedule.

Bonus if you are willing to go lead the ride you propose. We are also looking for members willing to assist in running the club.

Currently the out of town events that will be on our schedule include.

• The Lobster Roll Ride in Maine (June)
• Washington DC’s Raduno
• ADVRider Battlescooter’s Maggie Valley (August)
• Chicago’s Slaughterhouse Ride (September)

With this being a weird winter with many days warm enough to ride and other days below freezing we need to figure out when to have our season opener. So help us out with getting 2026 off to a good start.

Ride Ideas Wanted!

We are putting together a ride list for the Vespa Club of Knoxville, and I’d really love everyone’s input. If you have suggestions on places you’d like to go, routes you enjoy, or sights you’d love the club to see, please let me know!

I truly appreciate any help, this isn’t my club, it’s our club.
So if you have ideas for rides, destinations, scenic spots, or fun stops along the way, send them over. The more voices we have in planning, the better our rides will be.
