Hmm, thought I posted asking who is interested in a fall color ride the the second week in October? Preferably Oct 15 to avoid as much leaf peeper traffic as possible but possibly Oct 17 if a weekend date is necessary.

FYI, I’ve had a change of plans for the Beat the Heat Unrally in Maggie Valley next week and will be riding up early Tuesday morning if anyone wants to ride with me. I’m debating which route to take.
Option 1 is through Seymour and Gatlinburg then the park to Soco Rd.
Option 2 is towards Townsend. Pick up Foothills Parkway then take 129 through the Dragon. Then 28 past Fontana Dam and Great Smokey Parkway. Note, if you intend to do the 200 mile Dragon Challenge that will have overlap with Option 2.
Option 3 is Old Asheville Highway through Dandridge and Hot Springs, 208 to 19.
I’ll be doing one of the other routes back to Knoxville.

Three of us made it to the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride for Knoxville today. They moved it from Knoxville to Townsend as organizers were concerned about the number of rider fatalities lately. So instead of city street most of the tide was through Smoky Mountain National Park. Even the part that went through Gaitlinburg wasn’t bad as least traffic I’ve seen there.
