In 2025, John Benziger generously donated his collection of Tall Bearded Iris varieties to Lakeshore Park. The collection is divided into two beds within the Park: one near Marble Pavilion, and the other near the Mid Park Restrooms. Stop by the Park soon to see this stunning blooms. After nearly 7 years, Julieanne Foy, Executive Director of Lakeshore Park Conservancy has announced her retirement. A search for Foy’s successor has begun, and she will stay on through the fall to help with the transition.

The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and visionary leader of Lakeshore Park Conservancy. In close partnership with the Board of Directors and the City of Knoxville, this individual will lead the organization’s strategic direction, operations, fundraising, and community engagement efforts.

This is a unique and honored opportunity to lead one of Knoxville’s most cherished public assets—guiding Lakeshore Park into its next chapter and ensuring it continues to thrive for future generations. The Executive Director will play a critical role in preserving the park’s legacy while shaping its growth, relevance, and impact for years to come.
