Were you just thinking you'd love to have the organ from the Knoxville PEO Home?!?? Well, you're in luck...she's free for the hauling! Doesn't work (but probably could with some tinkering) or maybe you want the parts inside? If you're interested or know of someone who might be, reach out!

Times have sure changed since these photos were taken... a calendar-worthy picture of St. Mary's School for girls on a snowy, Winter's Day and ladies from the school all bundled up in their turn of the century outerwear. For one, getting warmer was a lot more work back then!!

As you head into Christmas and New Year, your friends at the Knox County Historical Sites send you warm wishes of health and happiness.

It's beginning to look A LOT like Christmas ๐ŸŽ„Just in time for a Magical Small-town Christmas in downtown Knoxville this Saturday 12/6! There will be holiday shopping in the shops the entire day, the Christmas Parade at 5, FREE horse-drawn wagon rides, and the Old Knox County Courthouse and Knox County Historical Museum will be open as well from 5:30-8pm, so come in and warm up. We have decided to cancel the luminaries (we know, bummer - but that means no set up or tear down for those of you who were planning to help). With all the snow there's just no place to put them, so take it up with Mother Nature โ„๏ธโ˜ƒ๏ธIt will still be a festive night to walk around our beautiful little town all dressed up for the holidays! Hope to see you there ๐ŸŽ…!!

When you're out on the Scenic Drive this weekend, be sure to visit Knoxville! All of the Historic Sites will be open - The Courthouse, Jail, Log Cabin, School House...and at The Museum you'll find all kinds of goodies for sale, including authentic Abingdon Pottery! Look through photos below. If you'd like to purchase anything in advance, send us a direct message. Also, visit the Bargain Corner inside Mannhardt's Furniture! All proceeds will go toward replacing the Courthouse roof, a costly project that will have to be done in the next 5 years or so. Thanks in advance for supporting this important cause!

Would you do it for Abe?? Can you donate 3 hours of your time so visitors can enjoy the Knox County Historic Sites?? Pretty Please?!!

Many shifts are still open and in need of a volunteer at the Historic Sites during the Knox County Scenic Drive! The shifts are only 3 hours long (10 to 1) (1 to 3) this Saturday and Sunday and next! You don't have to be a member of the historic sites (but if you are - that's great too!) We just need 2 people per shift to hang out in the buildings, greet guests and keep an eye on things. EASY PEASY and actually really fun too because you get a behind the scenes look at The Knox County Museum, The Old Jail, Newman Schoolhouse, or the Old Courthouse - depending on where you're stationed.

If you can help - please contact Mandy Balser (309-536-0316) or Pat Mannhardt (at Mannhardt's Furniture in Knoxville) ASAP! THANKS IN ADVANCE!
