The Tennessee Junior Science and Humanities Symposium was held February 14-15, 2025.

High schoolers from across the state of Tennessee presented their original research, participated in a college and departmental fair, heard from fantastic speakers, and toured Oak Ridge National Laboratories. Thank you to our fantastic campus and community partners who made this event possible!

Congratulations to our winners who will now move on to present at the 63rd National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium in Chantilly, VA.

We are excited to announce that the 2025 Tennessee Junior Science and Humanities Symposium Application is OPEN!

The Tennessee Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, hosted at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, gives high school students a chance to compete as they present their original scientific research, while also providing participants opportunities for hands-on workshops, panel discussions, career exploration, and research lab visits.

The 59th Annual Junior Science and Humanities Symposium was held earlier this year at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Once again, we were blown away by the students work and projects, and we look forward to next year! Results can be found at: https://jshs-tn.utk.edu/results/

The Pre-College Research Excellence Programs hosted the Tennessee Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium on March 9-10, 2023!

The top 5 finalists were invited to the National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium on April 13-14,2023 located in Virginia Beach, VA.

Of course, students would not be where they are now without the support of their family, teachers and friends.

Congratulations to our student finalists and to their amazing teachers who mentored and supported them along the way! 👏🏻

Last week, the top five Tennessee Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium student finalists attended the National Junior Science & Humanities Symposium in Virginia Beach, VA from April 13-14, 2023.

Students from Oak Ridge Schools, Central Magnet School, Farragut High School and McCallie School represented Tennessee well and even got an honorable mention!

I had the honor of attending the symposium as the Tennesee Regional Director representing The University of Tennessee Undergraduate Admissions & Pre-College Reseach Excellence Programs Department. And of course, chaperoning these intelligent students!

JSHS is a collaborative effort between the research arm of the DoD and nationwide colleges and universities.
