She's the First Tennessee

She's the First Tennessee We are the independent Univ. of Tennessee chapter of She's the First, a not-for profit organization that sponsors girls’ education in low-income countries

It goes that 130 million youth in developing countries are uneducated, and of those numbers, 70% of them are women. Less than two cents of every developmental dollar goes to women. We at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville don't like those numbers and wish to change them.

Hey, everyone! Let’s get to know our co-president, Desiree and hear her STF campus experience for ! 🦋💕
"Growing up I always had dreams of changing the inequality that I saw in my environment. So it's no surprise that I went to college to study the psychology of prejudice and classism in economics. Upon joining STF I new that this organization was a place were I could directly make an impact on injustice and inequality. I am excited to be graduating Summa Cum Laude this year, and hope to enter a field where I can work to end racism, classism, and mysogny in the world." @ University of Tennessee
