100 Block of Gay Street Sharing the news and latest happenings on & around the 100 Block of Gay Street in Downtown Knoxville

Many Knoxvillians, even those who live, work, or spend time in downtown Knoxville may not know that the street and sidewalks on 100 Block of Gay Street are actually built on a bridge-like support structure, one full story above the original street level. There is an entire subterranean world of walkways and old storefronts below our sidewalks. Come out and enjoy one of our local restaurants or oth

er businesses on the block, or check out one of our many art galleries on a First Friday and maybe you'll get a peak of the mysterious underground!
