HotMess kickball combines the carefree joy of childhood - when you play games with strangers and then make friends - with the common bond of adulthood q***r identity, something most of us lacked for years.

The gym game that traumatized you? It can heal you now because the environment is entirely different.

Weather permitting, Wednesday, June 3, will be the final free open play. I encourage you to add this to your calendars and your to-do lists. This is not about having an athletic skill; this is about having a place.

About last night...

We had a blast at our first *free* open play of kickball with HotMess Sports. I managed to snag a few pics, but honestly, I forgot about my phone for a few hours and just enjoyed running around in the dirt. We (re)learned the rules together and hyped each other up through all the highs, lows, and tumbles 🫣

I was buzzing from the dopamine after I got home, and I'm so happy these sports are now in the Knoxville market.

Can we get a KGS team together??? We need 12 people for a team, and frankly, KGS has the numbers for multiple teams. Who's in?!

Kickball begins this Wednesday. Who's ready to kick, and stretch, aaaaaaand kick?!

Hey, y'all! I think most of you know HotMess Sports opened up in the Knoxville market a few months ago. A handful of us joined the bowling league and really enjoyed it as well as got to know some of the people involved in the organization. It is a nationwide group with presence in several cities, and it actually started just down the road in Nashville. While HotMess Sports is q***r focused, it is open to everyone! Feel free to invite your token straights to play.

Kickball is the next event, but other sports such as volleyball, co****le, and pickleball are on the docket. The first three weeks are free to play as everyone figures out how it works and interest is generated for the sport. League play begins June 3, and all games will be played at a centrally located park with lights since it's a Wednesday evening event. It does cost money to play in the league (less than $50 for entire duration), and a lot of that cost goes back into funding food, prizes, T-shirts, and end-of-season after party.

Please please please come for at least the free weeks of open play (May 6, 13, & 20) to check out the group and meet other people who are getting involved. Please please please also tell other people about this league. It is thriving in other cities, and I want the folx of Knoxville to rally the community for something fun! We deserve to have nice things like this for us in our city.

Lastly, Joei and I (Chase) are helping manage the kickball league (and subsequent leagues to follow), so there will always be a familiar face there!

If you're new to the Spaces app where our KGS members communicate and RSVP to events, then you might have not checked out our subgroups.

Review our current subgroups and get involved in all that interest you. Members can also request to create and host their own subgroups - surely there's something for everyone!

Hey hey. It's the KGS Pres checking in. We took a little winter break, but now we're back. Things are in motion and new events are being planned (including new sports and group collabs).

I just want to ask: Where is everyone? What event are you waiting for before participating?

With these new connections, we're able and willing to make new, fun things happen, but we want to make sure the community shows up. Please comment or send a DM. We appreciate your ideas because we are literally here for you 🫶🏻
