Meet these 2 little bundles of fluff...
Maya and Lexxa. 2 Golden Aussies, expected to be around 30 lbs full grown. Born 3/18/26, have now been to the vet twice and are ready to go. Before making a decision though...they both have heart murmurs. Not a death sentence at all, but follow up will be needed.

Kira and her companion Tucker came in just as planned on Friday morning. Tucker had a prior adopter who wanted to meet him and Kira as expected generated alot of interest.
Dick and his wife came about 30 minutes after Kira arrived and decided she would make a great fit for them. They had recently lost their golden and were excited about adding a new pups in their lives to love.
Liz came on Saturday to meet Tucker. Liz had adopted Marigold from the rescue several years ago and lost her about 6 months back. She said Tucker did great riding in the car home, that he is very sweet, calm and very much a velcro dog.

Ollie, who came in from the Culpepper shelter and never made it to the web page was adopted on Thursday!
I received a call for him from Hunter who drove 5 hours from Raleigh, NC to meet him and thought he was perfect as soon as he saw him. He said he's definitely lived up to all he's wanted in a dog. Thank you for making the long trip...I know Ollie is totally worth it!

After a successful last couple of weeks for adoptions, the calls unfortunately never stop for animals in need of rescue....

After a successful last couple of weeks for adoptions, the calls unfortunately never stop for animals in need of rescue.
Meet this sweet girl, Willow. Shes thought to be about 10 months old and a Heeler/Australian shepherd mix. Shes 40lbs and current on vaccines and will be spayed on Friday. Her story is not unlike others that come into rescue...found around Martinsville, Va. area and left in a pig pen abandoned with her sister. Her sister is also safe in rescue. Despite her rough start, shes very sweet, loves kids, in fact prefers kids, gets along great with other dogs and craves attention. As always if you are interested in Willow or any other deserving pup, please reach out.

Happy to announce 3 more adoptions! Cooper a beautiful young shepherd was adopted and now makes his home on a farm. He will live with cat siblings and have many new adventures. Carrie said they've already formed a bond with each other.
Cindy Lou, a long time resident finally found her furever on 20 acres right on the Potomac in WV. Adopted by a very patient, retired couple, Cindy will get to learn how to kayak, make friends with a pet pig and explore. Shes waited a long time for a loving family, very well deserved!
And lastly Mia went home yesterday. As soon as Helga stepped out of the car she was smitten with Mia. Mia will make her life in Columbia, Md. with a dog sibling and plans to enjoy long walks and lots of play time.

Meet Hank...
Hank is a 7 month old Bluetick Coonhound surrendered to rescue because the original owners decided they weren't equipped to deal with all of his puppy energy.
Hank is doing well in his foster home, learning manners, crate training and loving the play and companionship of other dogs. He loves people, craves attention and is also living with cats. He will be updated on all his vaccinations and nuetered before he is adopted.

Introducing...Winston and Mindy.
Winston is a yound lab, pit mix (?). He was living with a young family but had some issues with unknown triggers. He would be best suited therefore in a home with a family with older children or adults only. He is a sweet boy with energy and strength to do hiking, long walks or a run. He walks well on the leash, is potty trained and rides great in the car. If you think you can provide the home for him, please reach out.
Next, Mindy is a sweet senior girl who was found in the area of Culpeper, Va. She had been on the run for quite a while and when picked up was found to have bloody paws. She was taken to the local shelter where she was treated and the owner located. The owner decided to surrender her as he said he didnt have the means to take care of her properly. Mindy has never been spayed and she has a hernia which was never treated. On April 6th, she will receive both and be ready for a loving home. She is quiet, sweet and has been a well behaved house guest.

Diamond finally got her happily ever after.
After spending quite a bit of time in an outdoor kennel in rural WV, Diamond was transported here where she could get some much needed exposure.
After a few months, Foster Mom, Barb took Diamond and introduced her to living with other dogs and cats as a family inside a home. Diamond proved to be the BEST house guest. She was well loved and was able to learn house manners. Yesterday through referrals from my good friend and fellow rescuer Carol from AHGRR, Diamond found her furever home. Kristie, the sister of a prior adopter drove all the way from NJ to meet Diamond and it was pretty much love at first sight. Diamond will make her home with sibling cats and get all the love and attention she deserves.
So many more to go...3 new rescues just came in and pictures are coming. If thinking of adding an addition to your family, please consider RESCUE!
