Lighthouse Youth Group Alumni Orange Park FL 1997-2003 From February 1997 to June 2003 I was the "youth guy" at Grace Episcopal Church in Orange Park FL. It was called the "Lighthouse". Here is a place to catch up.

I worked from the tools I had in my box at the time, as we all do.

Many of you are mid to late 30’s now. Life has been unfolding in ways that you didn’t really anticipate because that’s what life does. The thing that has not changed at all, is that Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I hope each of you has discovered a genuine affection for Jesus that brings you comfort and peace for He has saved you. Today we celebrate God entering physically into our neighborhood. If we were in the Lighthouse we’d sing Walking in the Light (Like in this picture) because real light is exactly what Jesus brought into our lives. I have pictures of my time with you on a wall in my house, and I think of you and our time together and give thanks. Merry Christmas folks!

If you were on the San Antonio trip you may remember Thomas. He was the youth guy at the church that hosted us. I’m stunned at this loss. I reconnected with Thomas as priests in the same group in AMiA and then ACNA. Whenever I had a clergy meeting, he’s the guy l would look for. He was my kind of priest, wicked smart and very funny. Please include his wife and daughter in your prayers.

Thomas & Charlie (Ella) McKenzie: May they Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory

This morning (Monday, August 23rd) Thomas McKenzie, Rector of Church of the Redeemer, Nashville, and his 22-year-old eldest child Charlie (Ella), died in an accident on Interstate 40 west of Nashville. They were driving to Santa Fe, New Mexico where Ella was to continue studies at St. John’s College. Thomas was just beginning his well-deserved sabbatical. Thomas’ wife Laura and their daughter Sophie are now home in Nashville.

Please keep the McKenzie family and their church community in your prayers as they navigate through this agonizing time.

Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond our understanding: deal graciously with those who mourn, especially Laura and Sophie. Surround them with your love, that they not be overwhelmed by their loss, but have confidence in your goodness, and strength to meet the days to come, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
