Uncle Fred's Army Literacy Mission is looking for Village Retired Educators, College Students, and Young Professionals for Tutoring opportunities. The tutoring opportunites will be for experienced tutors, reading buddies, and game facilitators that will help with comprehension, fluency, letter recognition/letter sounds, and vocabulary for our Pre-K - 5th grade children.

Uncle Fred's Army Literacy Mission is looking for Jr. Cadets, from 6th grade to 12th grade, who will serve as a reading buddy or game facilitator with adult supervision for our Pre-K - 5th grade children.

If you know a 6th-12th grader and they are excellent readers, writers, and thinkers Uncle Fred's Army Literacy Mission needs you!!

We shall let them lead the way!!

The January 28 launch of "Uncle Fred's Army", a PreK-5 community-led, community-based literacy effort, was well attended. There is still opportunity to enlist to help our children in Knoxville's Region Five elementary schools.
