At least six Palestinians, including four from the same family, were killed and others injured in the Gaza Strip early Saturday amid continued Israeli violations of an ongoing ceasefire, according to medical and eyewitness accounts, Anadolu reports.

Two children and their parents were also killed when an Israeli airstrike hit their home near Al-Tayaran junction in Gaza City, according to a medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital.

Eyewitnesses said the strike targeted the Safadi family home at dawn, killing Hussein and Rana Safadi and their two daughters, Zina (6) and Lana (13). Several other family members and nearby residents were also injured.

A medical source told Anadolu that a Palestinian woman was killed by Israeli gunfire in the town of Beit Lahia, northern part of the strip.

In another incident, a Palestinian man was killed and a woman was moderately injured after an Israeli drone strike targeted pedestrians near Al-Saftawi roundabout in northern Gaza City, witnesses said.

The attacks come amid continued Israeli breaches of the truce that took effect in October 2025.

As of Thursday, those violations have killed 1,007 Palestinians and injured 3,165 others, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

The ceasefire agreement followed Israel’s two years of genocidal war on Gaza, which killed more than 73,000 Palestinians, injured over 173,000 others, and caused widespread destruction to around 90% of civilian infrastructure.

A federal judge ordered on Thursday the immediate release of Salah Sarsour from ICE detention while his case moves through immigration court. Sarsour is a green card holder, the president of Wisconsin’s largest mosque and a Palestinian community leader. He has been held at the Clay County Jail in Indiana for over two months.

Despite Sarsour’s lawful permanent resident status, the government says he could be subject to deportation for failing to disclose a conviction by Israeli military authorities when he was a teenager in the occupied West Bank. Sarsour says he never understood the charges, which were presented against him in Hebrew, and that he was tortured in Israeli custody.

Peace activists rallied in Baltimore on Wednesday to celebrate a decision by the Maryland State Retirement and Pension System to divest most of its holdings in Israel’s sovereign bonds.

"Currently, we're down to $11 million in Israel bonds. That's an 85% reduction in their holdings,” says Evie Frankl, a member of Jewish Voice for Peace and the Break the Bonds Campaign. “We're declaring that a victory, but we want them to divest the other $11 million, and we want a policy to make clear that they can't reinvest."

Our vigil on 17 June, to mark by exploring the links between climate migration/climate change and refugees. This was our second week on this theme. A slow start but the interest and engagement took off and we handed out all of our leaflets.
