Knox County Volunteer Assisted Transportation

Knox County Volunteer Assisted Transportation Our program is volunteer driven. Provide one-on-one transportation to folks that need extra support.

Volunteer Assisted Transportation is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven program working to ensure that everyone can find a best option for getting around their community, no matter age or ability. No one should get sick or go hungry because they have barriers to independent travel. We provide door-through-door transportation for seniors and people with disabilities who require assistance for travel to medical appointments, errands, and other fun activities!

🏠 A safer home may be within reach.

CAC’s Lead-Safe Homes Program helps eligible households address lead hazards and create healthier living spaces.

Who may qualify?
• Renters: A child does not have to live in the home.
• Homeowners: A child under age 6 who regularly visits the home may meet the requirement—even if they do not live there full-time.

📞 To learn more or apply, contact CAC Housing & Energy at 865-244-3080.

Did you know that the Office on Aging at CAC has programs that help benefit the aging population by helping their pets? The Feed-a-Pet program was put in place because seniors were giving their food to their pets and would go without eating.

We are still facing difficulties with this issue due to rising costs. This is difficult on the aging population in Knox County who may only have their animals for support.

We do have a wish list page on Chewy.com and Amazon.com that shows the approved items we are allowed to accept. You can also make monthly or one time monetary donations also.

If you decide to make a monetary donation, 100 percent of the proceeds are applied towards the Feed-a-Pet program.
Big or small, all approved items or money received is greatly appreciated!
