Because of our rigged tax code, last year FedEx received massive refunds through 13 different subsidiaries while we struggle to afford everyday essentials like milk and eggs.

It is time to close corporate tax loopholes and end the grocery tax. Our families should not have to suffer while corporations get a free pass.

Right now the TN General Assembly is considering the Bills to do just this. Email your legislators: https://tn4all.info/ENDGROCERYTAX

Jobs with Justice of East Tennessee’s 2025 Annual Meeting on Saturday, November 8, 2025, Noon to 2PM, at the CWA Union Hall, 1415 Elm Street

Stand Up! Fight Back! Organizing in Tough Times is the theme for Jobs with Justice of East Tennessee’s 2025 Annual Meeting on Saturday, November 8, 2025, Noon to 2PM, at the CWA Union Hall, 1415 Elm Street, Knoxville (where our monthly meetings take place). We are inviting a number of local organizations and unions such as United Campus Workers, Starbucks Workers United, SOCM/ Public School Strong, AKIN, Appalachian Voices and more to table and share their work fighting back. Vivian Shipe, a retired union postal worker and community activist (who was active in the recent successful fight to keep all of Chilhowee Park public) will give the keynote. There will be a brief business meeting.
As always, main course of lunch and soft drinks are on us, no cost to attend. Bring a pot-luck side dish or dessert, if you can. It helps if you send an RSVP to [email protected] with your head count. Looking forward to seeing you on November 8.
