Beautiful, cooler day! Take some time and come visit us at The Lavender Festival at Jackson Square in Oak Ridge. We are here until 4pm. This year we are set up just across the walk way from where we have been in past years (directly across from the relocated Razzleberry Ice Cream).

Lots of beautiful items: pine needle baskets, beaded items, table runners, lots of different types of purses and bags, jewelry, Christmas items, keychains, and so much more!

We now take Venmo, along with cash and credit cards (including Apple Pay).
Lots of great booths!

Sharon (the director of Fundamaya - our host organization) worked to put together an Amazon Wish List with a large variety of items. These include pulse oximeters, masks, and oxygen concentrators for use with the pandemic needs. There are also larger items such as computers for the Tierra Linda Jr. High and the Fundamaya offices, along with drills to be used in the field when putting in the ONIL fuel efficient stoves. There is a combination dvd/tv for a few men that are each paraplegic. There are a few other items too.

Sharon or I have put notes next to each of the items and the ideal number of each item. I know Fundamaya and those they serve will be thankful for any items that are purchased from the list.
If you purchase something from the list, it will be shipped directly to my home so it can be included in the Fall Shipment.

Please free to share this list. If you purchase something, please send me a quick messenger note/e-mail if you can so I can be on the lookout for it - and know who it came from.

We will be sending a shipment to Fundamaya in October. I will be accepting packages between September 8-29, 2021. Please message me with your e-mail address and I will be happy to send you the information regarding the cost, where to send it, and some other directions.

If you want to send items for Christmas, the beginning of the next school year (starts in Jan/Feb 2022), your sponsored student or person, general donations, or other items - this is the best option for most people. We will do another shipment around April 2022.

Several sponsors have sent computers to their sponsored students. I have put together some information in regards to what is needed based on my conversations with several people at Fundamaya. If you are interested in sending a computer, I am happy to send you the information I have compiled. Just let me know and send me your e-mail address.

The boxes are normally 2'x2'x3' - though I have had some 2'x3'x3' boxes. Please plan on your packages fitting in a 2'x2'x3' box. Please ask before you send something bigger than a 2'x2'x3' package to be sure I have access to that size box.

As always, just let me know if you have questions. I try to answer within 24-48 hours. If you don't hear from me after 48 hours, please try contacting me again.

We are accepting packages for specific students and individuals, along with general donations for FundaMaya from April 1-15, 2021. If you are interested in sending items, please let us know and we can provide the details on the shipment.

If anyone is interested in shipping items to FundaMaya we will be accepting packages between April 1-15. Items may sent to a particular sponsored student, elderly person, or family. Items can also be sent as general donations (i.e., toys that can be given as Christmas gifts, shoes, appropriate clothing, sheets, towels, hygiene items, etc.). FundaMaya would appreciate receiving toys in preparation for the Christmas party in 2021.

General donations are given out as needed at the discretion of the FundaMaya staff. Sponsored student packages are held at the FundaMaya office for your sponsored student to pick up when the FundaMaya staff can reach their families and it is convenient for the family to get to the office. In some situations, they are delivering them to the villages due to the pandemic.

**Please note that with this unprecedented pandemic, there may be delays in shipment and/or getting the items to specific people due to local travel restrictions and “unknowns.” We ask for patience and understanding that this is not a “normal time.” All efforts will continue to distribute items as quickly – and as safely – as possible! That being said, the children and families love receiving their packages!

Once the items are received between April 1-15, 2021, representatives of Nuestros Niños will work to organize, inventory, and pack in the 2'x2'x3' boxes we ship to Guatemala. We hope the boxes will be picked up at the end of April or beginning of May for delivery to FundaMaya by the end of June (the last 2 shipments have taken a bit longer).

Please message Nuestros Niños Charity for the instructions and form that must be sent with any packages/donations you send. We do ask for a contribution (by cubic foot) to cover the cost of the shipment.

22 (12 cubic feet) boxes are on their way to FundaMaya in Guatemala! Zuleta Transportes came to pick them up this morning. 264 cubic feet of items sent with love. 9 People Packing (5 who were teenagers or young adults) over 2 days (mainly). 126 work hours. 15+ people donating specific items to sponsored students or general needs. Medical supplies, solar systems, toys, clothes, shoes, electronics, sewing machines, hygiene items, animal items, and much more. Items were organized, inventoried, and packed. Organized Chaos! SEC Football watched and food supplied while packing…happy packers! Good times were had by all! Lots of smiles and sent with love!

We didn’t have enough boxes – so, they left us a few more to pack. They will come back in about 10-14 days to get the rest, so we are accepting medical supplies off of the Amazon Wish List until October 10. Nuestros Niños will cover the cost of shipping the medical items as before. We will also accept toys for the kids for Christmas time. Please let me know if anyone needs me to send them the shipping directions.

Can You Help Just by Shopping? Yes! :)

We are preparing to send a shipment to our partner organization, FundaMaya, in Guatemala. Along with general donations and items for specific people that we are shipping for sponsors, we know there is a great need for some general medical supplies.

Though we still sometimes struggle to get items here, there is a much greater struggle to get items in Panajachel from a supply and monetary resources standpoint. Masks, gloves, goggles, face shields, thermometers, oximeters, etc. are all needed. We have created an Amazon "wish list" of specific items they could really use based on what their specific needs are currently.

Some of them are ones they could use at FundaMaya and others are ones that they are being asked by the local bomberos (emergency workers) or health officials for help in obtaining.

Some of the items are ones they can lend/give to families if needed (i.e., oximeter if dealing with a family trying to know when their loved one's oxygen is so low that they need to get them to a medical facility).

We would love to get all of them covered, but the face masks are the highest priority...though all items on the list are needed and would be appreciated.

Nuestros Niños will cover the cost of shipping to Guatemala in our shipment (so you can use the money needed for shipping to buy more items!) 🙂 However, there is not much time to get the items to us.

We will be packing this weekend, but also save room to add up until the day they come to get the boxes. (I am new to making a shared wish list on Amazon, but hopefully it works!) I did try to indicate the quantities that we are striving for on each item.

Please spread the word to any groups, friends, family members, colleagues, etc. that you know who might be willing to help.
We think we really need all items by October 5th realistically at the very latest, but earlier is much better! Any questions just let me know. My address should automatically be there if you order from the list.

Thank you to each person or family that donated so that the staff of Fundamaya would each have a package of food to take home to their families over this holiday weekend!!!! We actually had exactly 37 donated or pledged! In addition, a very generous gift was made by a family so that each staff member will receive another package of food in about 2-3 weeks! I love to see people continuing to come together to help those that help others! (Nuestros Niños will be sending out receipts for tax purposes starting next week.)
