PechaKucha Night Knoxville Vol. 59 🌿

Save the date: May 28.

This volume will be a special curated PechaKucha Knoxville Night in collaboration with Ijams Nature Center, celebrating 50 years of Ijams and its place at the wild heart of our city. For five decades, Ijams has been a place where Knoxville connects with nature, adventure, and each other.

Our posters this round come from the incredibly talented .fine.lion, who created two beautiful versions — one for day and one for night — capturing the magic of Ijams and the fact that nature is just across the river from Downtown Knoxville.

Whether you’re the sunrise-on-the-trail type or more of a moonlight-in-the-woods wanderer… we’ll see you there.

More details (and presenters šŸ‘€) coming soon.

šŸŽØ Artist Spotlight: Robert Felker
------------------
Meet Robert Felker, the artist behind our vibrant PechaKucha Night Knoxville Vol. 58 poster. Born in Knoxville and raised in Nashville, Robert’s creative path has taken him from the South to New York City and back home again—bringing with it decades of artistic exploration and storytelling.

Robert earned his BFA in Media Arts from the School of Visual Arts in NYC, where he studied painting and illustration. After several years as a freelance illustrator, he spent more than 25 years working in graphic design, all while continuing to paint and create collages. In 2019, he launched his ongoing collage series Patron Saints of Rockā„¢, celebrating influential music icons through bold, layered compositions.

His work is deeply woven into Knoxville’s cultural fabric. From painting landscapes en plein air and at live events to creating impactful public art, Robert has left his mark across the city—including the Cormac McCarthy Firefly Mural on Clinch Avenue, the Bijou Theatre’s 111th Anniversary Commemorative Mural, and East Tennessee Sunrise, a mural collaboration with R.B. Morris inspired by the poetry of President Jimmy Carter at the Knoxville Habitat for Humanity headquarters.

For Vol. 58, Robert designed a colorful pinwheel poster that perfectly captures the spirit of PechaKucha—movement, creativity, and many voices coming together in one joyful spin. We’re honored to feature his work and grateful for the energy and artistry he brings to our community.

Give it up for Robert Felker and keep an eye out for that pinwheel—it’s spinning us straight into another unforgettable PKN night. 🌈✨

We will see you tomorrow night at the Mill and Mine! Doors open at 6:30, presentations begin at 7:20!
