The LORD’s Child is the mission arm of THE GATHERING CHURCH, and was founded in 2007 by Gene Wolfenbarger. We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to help end hunger wherever we are in the name of Jesus. Headquartered in the mountains of southern Appalachia, The LORD’s Child was born out of a great concern for the traditional and social orphans around us. That concer
n has now been taken on a global scale with children and communities in Uganda, India, Haiti, Kenya, and South Africa. When someone is hungry not by choice, it’s an opportunity for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Lack of food is a situation that can be seen every day across the world, as well as in our own backyard. The Lord’s Child exists to help end hunger wherever we are in the name of Jesus. Whether it’s one of our partners in Africa or right here in Knoxville, our team wakes up every day eager to love the communities God has placed us in. To date, it has been our privilege to feed and serve over 20,000 children globally and here in our city.
