Effective July 1, pursuant to Tennessee General Assembly Public Acts Chapter 367, it is considered a Class A misdemeanor for an armed security guard who has not completed active shooter training to provide security or patrol services in or at a public school, a public charter school, a private school, or a church-related school.

Please share with those you know who currently serve as armed security guards in the settings listed.

Tactical Baton Use Under Stress: an ASP certified course. Monday, April 10th from 1-5pm Battle Rock Krav Maga

*Course is specific to LEO or Security Professionals. Please submit your rank and department for admittance.

This field-level certification program is designed to acquaint participants with operational use of the ASP Tactical Baton. The training includes basic portation (carrying) and presentation (drawing) techniques as well as defensive application procedures. This is a hands-on, active course. Students will be expected to learn the proper techniques and then apply them in a stressful environment in a less than lethal way.

Excellent for officers with no prior use of a baton or officers desiring a refresher course with the most up to date information.

Certification acknowledges that the individual officer met a competency-based standard of knowledge and performance.

We are so proud of all of the hard work put in this week at our Krav Maga Defensive Tactics Instructor course in San Antonio, Texas. These men and women trained hard, spent time outside of class studying/practicing, and all of them passed both a written exam as well as the 1-on-1 skills technique testing while an instructor proctored every move. After any contact involving a possibility of illness or injury, you must conduct an initial medical assessment to find out if the subject (or anyone else) requires medical care.

•determine responsiveness and level of consciousness using verbal or physical stimulus

•assess airway, breathing, circulation

•perform body checks for injuries, severe bleeding, broken bones, etc

•provide any necessary treatment to your level of training and if needed or the subject requests it, activate the emergency medical system

•continue to monitor and remain with the subject until he or she is turned over to someone of equal or greater responsibility.

We recommend CPR/AED and First Aid training and certification for everyone, because you never know when someone might need YOU to save their life.

•Bear hug defense
•Headlock defense
•Gun disarming
•Tactical baton

Participants also reviewed tactical force techniques from day 1, then demonstrated in front of the class how they would teach those techniques to others.

It may have been out of their comfort zone, but that’s where we see growth really happens.
