We have been standing the line this week with the Knoxville Building Trades for an informational picket for the Kiros Power Hermes Project. We want Kiros Power to know that we are here and that Oak Ridge is a Union Town. SMART Local 5 is proud to stand the line with our Union brothers and sisters in solidarity for this cause.

We had a very successful bed build with Sleep In Heavenly Peace of Knox County this morning at the Knoxville Union Hall! We built 25 bunkbeds for children in need in the Knoxville area. Thank you to everyone who came out and worked in the heat to help out underprivileged children. The SMART ARMY is proud to be able to help out and put our skills to use. The first annual Local 5 SMART ARMY Charity Motorcycle Ride is in the books. It was a great ride with some great people. After the ride we all enjoyed some live music by Kyle Pierce and good food provided by Good Hombres Food Truck. Thank you to all who rode in the ride and thank you to all who came after the ride for the festivities. We plan to make this a more common thing in Local 5 and we can't do that without your help!
