Yesterday, we had the opportunity to spend time at Childhelp for a meaningful Lunch with a Leader, featuring Eddie Smith, Director of Organizational Advancement at Childhelp and former State Representative for District 13.
Eddie spoke about the important and, unfortunately, necessary work Childhelp is doing every day to support abused, neglected, and at-risk children. From immediate intervention to long-term care, their team is stepping in during some of the most difficult moments and walking alongside children and families as they heal and rebuild.
April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, and during our visit, each attendee placed six pinwheels outside, representing the six reported cases of child abuse every minute.
This experience gave us a better understanding of how we can support organizations like Childhelp here in our community.
